Welcome to the Python: From 0 to 1 course at KCL Tech Academy! We believe that programming is a skill that can be learnt by anyone, and if learnt well, it can help you with things such as automating tasks, analysing data, and solving problems in any field. Python: From 0 to 1 is designed specifically for absolute beginners. Instead of heavy lectures, every 90-minute session is highly interactive: we introduce a concept, show you how it works, and immediately have you build something with it. What to Expect: Zero to Hero: We start from absolute scratch. No prior knowledge is expected or required. Professional Tools: You won't just learn theory; you will set up and use PyCharm, the exact same environment used by professional software engineers. Practical Builds: You'll build real-world micro-projects every single week - like interactive charity shop tills, automated stock checkers, and scripts that clean messy datasets to generate real visual graphs. In this first session, we will guide you through setting up PyCharm, the industry-standard coding environment, and writing your very first lines of Python.
